Phoenix had a lightning storm on Tuesday and the sky put on an incredible show. Fortunately my husband and I had a view from the 18th floor which made it extra spectacular. The storm itself went on for over an hour and we couldn’t bring our eyes away from the windows.
Since moving to Phoenix, we have had the opportunity to feel the oppressive heat, watch thunderstorms approach from hundreds of miles away, and experience sandstorms so large they gobble up entire mountains before our eyes. Washington DC had its fair share of crazy weather, but we never had the range and overwhelming beauty that we are experiencing out in the desert.
This week also marks the Perseid meteor shower that happens every year and word is this years will be extra beautiful. We’re hoping for those thunderous clouds to give way this week so we can catch a glimpse of the celestial light show above.
“There’s as many atoms in a single molecule of your DNA as there are stars in the typical galaxy. We are, each of us, a little universe.”
